Day two on ‘The Island’ began at 9am for us, Amee cooked us a delicious breakfast of ‘proper’ bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast – it went down a treat! (Seriously, proper freakin’ bacon!!!!!)
After some minor ‘faffing’, we headed in to the city, we parked up, and hunted out the office where we were to pick up our Groupon tickets from. Yes, Singapore has it’s own Groupon! And yes, if you’re shocked (I dunno why!) we’d already taken advantage of the great deals!
We bought two separate Groupons, the first was for the Cable Car, Segway ride, Bus tour and Sky tower admission (worth $71, cost $38), the second, was for the Singapore Flyer (wheel), the Hippo River Cruise and the Original bus tour (worth $62.50, cost $39.90).
Once we’d picked up our tickets, we went to Raffles City Mall for a dander. While we were wandering, Col said to me ‘eh, Las? Do you realise what you just walked past?’ well, I’m so glad he a) noticed it, b) told me about it!
He found me curry chips!!!!!
For real!!!!!
I was soooooooooooooooo excited! It’s been almost two years since I’ve had one! I swear, I was seriously thrilled!
Yes, I’m easy to please! LOL!
After a trip to a discount store that Colin S. had found on his travels for even MORE chocolate, we bundled back in the car and headed back to Sentosa, where it was time to take care of the first ‘tourist’ thing on our list.
We went for a walk around the Merlion, a huge statue of a half lion, half fish type thing. It looked very pretty (albeit with crazy eyes) when the sun set, but it couldn’t tempt us to head up into his mouth or on top of his head!
The evening was spent moseying around Resort World, we went to the Hershey’s shop (where Amee wanted to buy everything!)
I was tempted by a few things, but resisted, I did enjoy having my picture taken with Mr Hershey though!
After Hersheys, we went to Candylicious, another sweetie store, where I did pick up a few things and Michael shopped like a grown-up, filling his trolley with lots of things he came across on his travels.
We dined at a place called Lunar, it was pretty cheaply priced, offered local dishes as well as Western dishes. It was tasty, too, my only concern was that mine (and Colin S’s) curry, had way too much chicken skin and potatoes and not nearly enough chicken in it!
But it *was* my 3rd curry in two days, so I couldn’t complain too much! We were home by 8.15pm (in time for both Colin’s to watch the Liverpool game, live) and I was in bed by 9pm, totally and utterly exhausted!
