Like we needed another day of shopping, however, Nina and I couldn’t help ourselves!
Tuesday (13th) started with a trip up the road to Walmart (which, for the first time ever was a total FAIL), then on to Kohls (also a total fail!) before we quit on shopping and went to lunch.
Helena chose TGI Fridays for lunch, I thought we had this in the BAG! TGI’s has never let me down before, it’s cheap, it’s quick, I get free chips and salsa with my stripes card, the service is normally great. However, this SUCKED!
Helena’s order was wrong, she sent it back, second time, it came out RAW, she asked him to take it away – he didn’t offer an alternative, didn’t offer to comp our drinks, didn’t apologised, just handed us the tab for my lunch and left. Furthermore, Helena heard someone in the kitchen bitching about her sending back the food!!! GRR!
After our failed lunch, we headed in to the First Colony shopping center for an afternoon of shopping, before heading home to make a list of people I’d yet to buy Christmas presents for, I also printed and cut out coupons for our impending trip to the outlets!
Dinner, loaned itself to a much more successful dining experience here in Houston. At long last, success! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings, again, somewhere that has been a bit ropey lately, the (now closed) Missouri City branch, the Sugar Land branch and the West Chase branch have all been, well, pretty terrible, to be honest. But, we thought we’d drive in to Rice Village and try the Wings up there.
I’m glad we did, I think it was the BEST B-dubs that we’ve had since we moved here, service was great, the wings were hot, fresh, delicious and we all had a yummy dinner.
AT LAST, GOOD service!! LOL!
I know we are in a recession, but jeez Louise!! The service in the greater Houston area has been seriously below average lately and it’s REALLY starting to rub me up the wrong way!! *sigh* I don’t ask for much, just for the server to listen to what I want, bring it to me, hot, correct, and to occasionally refill my drink (without 2lbs worth of ice in it!) – hell, they don’t even have to be particularly polite, just efficient and attentive.
Anyone else having issues with bad customer service lately? You’d think with people having less money, restaurants would be trying harder to compete for your custom, and yes, not that you’re surprised, I have been complaining left right and center to the aforementioned bad service restaurants!
Sally keeps telling me I should eat out less, it’s starting to get that way, not by choice, but because it gets me way too angry to be worth it any more!!! lol!
