We’ve had quite the wash-out week last week, it was tough. It was torrential downpours, flooding, pitch black skies and any number of reasons to stay inside.
So, we kicked off the weekend in style, having a yummy dinner on my weigh-in night, (Thursday), with the Grattans, Jo and Mark with Marks sister Lisa.
We ate in our favourite steak house, the Texas Roadhouse, (where we had a slap-up meal) and Rowan had, surprisingly enough, his first steak of the trip!
Friday started with a yummy lunch in Chilli’s with Rowan and my friend Lindsay, from there, we headed over to my friend (and hairdresser) Angel’s house, where we all got haircuts (and Linds and I got colours).
We spent a huge chunk of the day there, but it was definitely worth it! Neither Linds nor I could believe the absolute state of our before pictures – people let us go outside looking like that?!?
I love my girl Angel – she’s such a great hairdresser and an even better friend!
After we were done, we headed to Red Robin (yum!) to have dinner with the Reilly’s, Ryan and Col before we hit up the Comedy Sportz Ampersand show.
The Ampersand show is different to the regular Comedy Sportz shows, there are no teams, there’s no half-time, it’s ‘just’ an hour long comedy improv show and the tag ‘family friendly’ is removed, so anything goes. I’m glad we went to see it, some parts were funny as ever, but I prefer the team set up!
Saturday started with Rowan and I hitting up the gym, I got back in to a hard-core Body Attack class (it’s Monday and my arms are still stiff and achy from it) and Rowan worked out in the gym.
For lunch, I attempted the SW smash pizza – it wasn’t awful, but I think I prefer the tortilla wrap pizza instead. Though the Smash pizza was quite filling, it was all just a bit ‘soggy’ for my liking!
I’d not slept right in a few nights, so I had a quick nap, while the boys went to our local bar (Bogies) and played pool/darts for an hour before we went off to see our very own, local baseball team, the Sugar Land Skeeters.
It’s their inaugural season, so I wasn’t sure quite what to expect, but it was a great experience. From the free parking, to the excellent facilities, the picnic area having great food, great seats and it’s own carousel and 3ft deep swimming pool – it was definitely a great night, especially since the Skeeters won 8-0!
Sunday was more mellow and low-key, Col and I had a yummy lunch in Chipotle, before Col dropped me off at Target to do the weekly groceries (I undershot last week when I picked up food, so we were in dire straights by Sunday morning!) while he went to Lowes to pick up some things to conduct some minor DIY when we got home. From there it was HEB for fruit and veg and home to have a mammoth cook-off.
I made two huge pots of soup and two cottage pies (one of which was for our dinner), THEN, I baked a Slimming World chocolate orange cake before flopping on to the sofa to watch an episode of Burn Notice before bed!
I’m stuck in a well, Barry! But I’ve found some Well Berries!
LOL! First time commenting on my blog darling, I had to approve your comment, now you’re free to post whenever – I’m not sure what’s more concerning! I’m still giggling about this though!!
