Finally – a lie in!
Not!
I intended to sleep in, but I was up and had finished another book by 8am while Col slept. Keeping myself busy, I surfed online, writing reviews and complaint emails to the Track and the Train/transportation company.
Col got up at 11.30am and by noon we’d ordered room service pizza from the lush Italian we’d begun to frequent. After we’d eaten our lunch, we got our swim gear on and headed down to the pool.
I wrote a letter, while Col read his car magazine – we didn’t get a chance to jump in and enjoy the water cause a huge storm came in. Slowly. So slowly in fact, that we thought we’d lucked out and it wasn’t coming our way.
However, the storm rolled in, so we abandoned the pool and tried to see if the spa had a hot tub. It did (ish), but they had two hot tubs, one for men and one for women, and when Col asked if they had a mixed hot tub – they were disgusted!
Instead we ran Col a really hot bath – he’d woken up with a back issue and was pretty sore, so, I left him to steep in the bath for a while, while I sat and wrote up notes for my blog from the last few days of the trip.
Around 6pm we headed out to Times Square shopping centre is a twin tower complex containing a shopping centre and five star hotel.
“Both towers are 203 metres (666 ft) tall, with 48 floors. It is currently the fifth largest building in the world and has also been tagged as the “world’s largest building ever built in a single phase”, with 7.5 million square feet (700,000 m²) of built up floor area. It offers shopping, luxury accommodation, business, food and entertainment. Currently, it has space for more than 1,000 retail shops, 1,200 luxury service suites, 65 food outlets to suit many tastes and entertainment attractions such as Asia’s largest indoor theme park, Berjaya Times Square Theme Park and Malaysia’s first-ever GSC MAXX 2D & 3D theatre which is located on the 10th Floor. In April 2005, Borders opened its first franchise store here which is currently the largest Borders store in the world.”
Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur is the 13th biggest shopping mall in the world.
Yes, I shopped! LOL!!
We had dinner in the food court, in a place called Penang Village.
It was delicious! I had a beef in peanut sauce dish, Col had what was called a BBQ chicken and we had it with rice. It was really tasty (and cheap!)!
I had a rose syrup drink and Col ordered an Apple 7up.
Yes, this was his apple 7up. A regular 7 up. Hmm!
When dinner was over, we dandered a little, before deciding we wanted a donut for dessert in Krispe Kreme.
Dessert rocked! We really indulged – it was another, ‘we’re on honeymoon’ moment, but it was delish!
After donuts, we shopped!
We happened upon a level in the shopping centre, that was like a market place. Totally up my alley!
I managed to get myself a few cheap bags and trinkets and picked up a few gifts. I had a great time (Col, not so much cause it’s not his ‘bag’ in the least!).
Before heading home, we picked up some gelato to take back to the hotel. We got pineapple orange, Italian biscuit and chocolate hazelnut, grabbed a few supplies in the 7-11 before heading back to the hotel on the Monorail, where we watched some bad 80’s movies and ate our delicious gelato!
It really was a lovely evening, such a perfect end to a really fantastic trip. We ate nice food, walked around a great shopping centre and had some great gelato for supper. We were both relaxed, chilled out and very amused at the horrific acting in the 80’s film (it was so bad, I don’t remember what it was called!)
