The following morning, we set the alarm for 6.30am, but we didn’t get out of our bed until 7.30am. Thankfully, we were in no major rush.
For breakfast today, we decided to fill up with the buffet. I had some toast with fruit, some eggs with potato croquettes, I tried 3 different curries, had a curry puff and some Indian bread (kind of like naan, only a lighter type of bread for breakfast). It was really good – and different! It was nice to try different foods – especially for breakfast. I thought it’d be weird to have curries for breakfast, but it was actually pretty good!
For dessert – yes, they even had the dessert station open for breakfast – I enjoyed an orange and poppy seed muffin with a scoop of ice cream (I won’t even begin to list what Col put away! LOL!)
We packed up the rest of our stuff and headed for check out. It cost less than I expected it to on our check out bill, which can only ever be a good thing!
We took a taxi to KL central, a train to LCCT and a bus to the terminal. After check-in, we had to waste two hours as the gate wasn’t open – and, even if the gate was open, they had no toilets or anything else on the other side. We ended up having a quick lunch at McDonalds (yes, all I talk about is food!) and a drop in the Starbucks before going through to the departure ‘lounge’.
The flight was quick and painless, immigration took FOREVER! We got the train to Terminal 3, checked in to our hotel (the Crowne Plaza is on-site at the airport).
After taking pictures of the room (who doesn’t do that?) we realised that the pool was only open to 7pm, so we got into our swim gear and made a bee-line for the pool.
The water was FREEZING, so we didn’t really last long in there!
Col examined the in-room menu and I played with the ipod dock. We decided to head down to the cafe in the lobby, order a drink and surf the web. We had tea and an appetiser of Spring Rolls while we researched where to eat dinner.
We settled on a buffet in Azur, an in-hotel restaurant that had great reviews. It was delicious and the service was top notch!
I tried the lamb stew, chicken with some sauce, braised beef, ribs, two kinds of potatoes, chick pea curry (which was totally divine!!), fried snapper, special fried rice, poppadoms, vindaloo curry, chicken in garlic, a selection of cheese from the cheese board, soup, some delicious breads and for dessert – they had a ton of mini desserts and a Hagan Daaz ice cream station.
It was a perfect end to our trip!
The hostess was friendly, told us stories about the different local foods and called us Mr & Mrs McMaster all evening. It was nice to be treated so well!
Back in the room, I read while Col checked-in. We managed all of 5 hours sleep before it was time to get up and go home!
The trip home was long, painful (I got sick) and filled with crying children. When we got back, we picked up a Buffalo Wild Wings and sat down to watch some of the TV that’d racked up on our DVR box. We’d barely started to eat our food and my sickness kicked in to overload.
I had to abandon dinner and head up to bed – at 5pm. I slept for about 15 hours.
Exhausted, sick and with a butt-load of laundry we returned to the sunny US of A.
We had a fantastic honeymoon, we both totally disconnected from ‘real life’, we were spoilt and we spoilt ourselves.
It was everything a honeymoon should be.
Kuala Lumpur was everything I’d dreamed it’d be.
It was magical!
I can’t wait to go back ‘East’, I can’t wait to go back to my next Grand Prix, I can’t wait for my next adventure with a fantastic husband who I love dearly and had a complete blast with!
Until next time…
Awesome ending! I love that pool, it looks so inviting. I think that flights to the States from Asia always have lots of babies. On my flight back, there were lots because they were being adopted by Americans and their caretakers were working overtime! I swear it was 3 babies per adult! Sad face.
I think you might be right *sigh* next time I’m gonna talk Col in to an upgrade 😉 LOL! Or try at least!
