I feel like i’m dying today. I’ve had a migraine on and off for going on 2 days now and I can’t keep anything down. It’s all kinds of gross.
I hate being sick, when I’m sick, I moan a lot – poor Col!
Methinks I’ve gone and picked up some kind of stomach bug – no idea where from, but apparently it’s going around. Some kind of stomach virus, it’s gross – and, I have a feeling that even superman Col may be coming down with it too! (I do like to share and all!)
This weekend was quite the barrel of fun!
Friday was date night, yup, my lovely hubby asked me out to dinner and a movie. We still had a gift card from Theresa (wedding gift) and we had 2 silver AMC passes for the cinema so we figured it’d be a cheap night.
We started with dinner in Pappa’s Burger on Westheimer, neither of us had been before, but we figured if we did that and had a half price fajita night at Pappasitos some Wednesday night we’d get 2 meals out of our gift card instead of just one – look at us go, all economicall and all!
Dinner itself was lovely, it was happy hour so I managed to get the biggest margarita I’ve ever seen, for only $3 – I couldn’t even finish it and was feeling ‘merry’ on what I’d already had. Powerful stuff!
As you can see, the glass of Margarita is HUGE and Col’s getting stuck in to his disgusting fried pickles! *gag*
After dinner, we headed straight back to Sugar Land to the cinema where we grabbed tickets to see ‘The King’s Speech’. I’d heard great things about this movie from a few friends who’d gone to see it and I most definitely wasn’t disappointed. It was exceptional, it truly was a fantastic movie and I really, can’t recommend it enough!
Saturday we didn’t do much, we decided against heading out to hockey – Col slept most of the day and neither of us could be bothered getting out of our pjs. Instead, I made Col hang some of the picture frames that are dotted around our house.
He started in the dining room, hanging our 4 Texas Montage prints. I love these prints and I’m so glad they’re finally on the wall! I can’t wait for this year’s Nutcracker Market to see what other gems I end up coming home with!
He then moved our hockey Caricature from above the fireplace, into the dining room and hung our new canvas. I am sooooooo in love with this pic – the lighting, the car, how relaxed and happy we both look after a wonderful day at our wedding…it just brings back so many warm and cherished memories that’ll never, ever grow old!
He then moved the picture that was in the dining room (which I didn’t feel was in a good enough position) to our front wall as soon as you walk in.
Not bad as far as progress goes, but we’ve still got my Graduation frame to find a home for and 3 framed Engagement pictures ready to go up on the wall, not to mention a box full of bits and pieces to hang that we’ve just not had time to sit and sort through! whoops! We’ll finally get around to getting things sorted and SLB will call in a transfer! LOL!
Sunday I let Col lie in again – normally, he has one late morning, one early morning at the weekends. However, he struck me as a bit cream crackered so I let him sleep. We had a left-over lunch, (odds and ends from the previous few days of dinners) before we headed to pick up Magz and Sam for the game.
We watched the Aeros gain a 2 goal lead against the Griffins and then squander it away (even though I’ll insist, til the day I die that their 2nd goal was NOT a goal!). The game went to OT and Penalties and we lost (BOO!). In all the excitement, I didn’t take a single picture!
At last season’s SSA game, I only knew the group of 6 that we’d put together to go. This year, Sally had a group of 10, we had 6, Jo took her family of 4 and I can only guess who else went cause they didn’t sit us beside each other!
Either way, it was fun and although we lost, we had a good night’s craic at the Toyota Centre. The Aeros were having a food drive, it was a ‘bring a can of food, get a free ticket’ kind of deal. Between us and the Maddens, we came away with 6 tickets for a game later in the season. T’was good fun!
After the game, we took the Maddens for their first Red Robin experience. We had a yummy dinner and it was on the way home I was stuck by whatever phantom virus I’ve currently got. Yuck.
One up-side to yesterday, however, was the fact that we bought the first of our Rodeo tickets! WHOOP! We got nosebleed tickets (all that were left) to see the lovely Janet Jackson! yay!
Last year we got to see Kieth Urban and the Black Eyed Peas – I had such a great time that we decided to go again this year. Jackson is headlining and we’re going to try for Rascal Flatts tickets and Lady Antebellum tickets too. I LOVE the Rodeo! Col has also said we can shop for my cowgirl boots at the rodeo so i’m doubly excited! LOL!!!
That’s all for today folks, 10 days til we leave for Seattle, Col is doing plenty of shopping around for hotels for Japan and Korea in October, we’ll be back at West Coast Swing dancing next week and I’m shopping for Spanish lessons for the two of us to enjoy together!
Until next time…
I just like that the place you ate is on Westheimer.. that’s my street name! lol.
lol you dork!! <3
